Kingdom of the Sky was written in summer 2021 and produced in January 2022 with inspiration drawing from the Swedish melodeath scene like early In Flames, Johan Liiva era Arch Enemy and Soilwork, fused with Canadian death metal sensibilities and a touch of experimentation to create the second full length in Through Mists growing musical catalogue. Self produced like most of Through Mists releases, James Aniston brings all that he has learned to the table in this offering to get a grittier sounding tone than the ultra slick debut 'The Forest's Edge'

Thematically 'Kingdom of the Sky' continues the story of The Traveller on his rise up to the top of a kingdom built on greed, consumption and treachery. After being instructed on how to hunt like an eagle, The Traveller swoops down on and preys on anything that moves. Relentless attacks on all manner of creatures, even those that were once his friends that he had sworn to protect. He reaches the top of the mountain both literally and figuratively, and has amassed so much wealth through force that he and the mountain are covered in blood. The turning point comes when he starts eyeing the other members of his flock as threats due to his growing paranoia. His flock turns against him, and he's cast from his throne, into the dark waters below
